VW touchscreen not responding? Here's the MIB2 fix.
On many 2015 and newer Volkswagens, the MIB2 radio screen stops responding to touch, presses buttons by itself, or goes black while the sound still plays. That's a screen failure, and it can be fixed without buying a new radio.

Common MIB2 screen problems
- • Screen doesn't respond to touch, or only in some spots
- • Ghost touching: the radio changes stations or menus by itself
- • Black or flickering screen while audio still works
- • Lines, spots or bleeding colors on the display
- • Backup camera image missing because the screen is dark
Why MIB2 screens fail
The MIB2 display has a touch layer and an LCD panel inside the dash, where heat and sun beat on them every day. Over time the touch layer delaminates or its connection fails, and the LCD or its backlight wears out.
A dealer will usually quote a whole new radio unit. Repairing the screen keeps your original radio, with its coding and settings, so it plugs back in.

Questions buyers ask before sending it in
Why does my VW screen press buttons by itself?
That's ghost touch. The touch layer on the MIB2 display is failing and sending false presses.
Do I need a new radio?
Usually not. Repairing the screen keeps your original radio and its settings.
Will my radio need coding after the repair?
No. It's your original unit, so it plugs back in.

Most 2015 and newer Jetta, Golf, GTI, Passat, Tiguan and Atlas models with Composition Media or Discover Media radios.
What if it can't be fixed?
No fix, no charge. Every repair has a 1-year warranty.
